The 21st of September, declared as the International Day of Peace by the UN, a small piece of Berlin’s sky will be seen in Gernika.

A huge banner painted in 100 m² will fly over Gernika and surrounding areas. Then, later on, it will be dropped in the town.

From August 27^th until the 5^th of September, a team formed by the German artist Michael Klant, Damaris Pan Professor on the Faculty of Fine Arts in Bilbao’s UPV/EHU, Ángela Lopez from Astra, and Maitane Azurmendi from ‘Lobak’ initiative, will paint the banner accordingly to a photo taken on Berlin’s sky.

The place for such work will be Astra, the former arms factory nowadays transformed into a space of cultural creation.
